When to Replace

- Fails to Spin: The machine fills and agitates but will not enter the spin phase because the lock cannot engage.
- Error Codes: The control panel displays fault codes related to lid lock failure (e.g., E23).
- Broken Plastic: The strike plate or the receiver on the switch housing is physically cracked or snapped.
- Intermittent Operation: The lock engages and disengages repeatedly or requires several tries to lock.
Installation Tips
- Safety First: Unplug the washing machine and turn off the water supply before beginning the repair.
- Accessing the Switch: Use a putty knife to release the clips between the top console and the main cabinet to flip the top panel up.
- Connector Security: Ensure the wire harness is fully seated and the locking tab on the electrical connector clicks into place.
- Alignment: Align the switch body accurately with the mounting holes on the underside of the top panel to ensure the lid strike enters the port correctly.
- Verification: Once installed, run a "Drain & Spin" cycle to verify that the locking solenoid engages and the status light stays solid.
