It does not fit portable Weber Q or Weber Traveler grills. Check the grill's connection size, thread type, gas type, and BTU requirement before purchase and installation.

When to Replace

  • Use this kit when converting a compatible Weber grill from natural gas service to propane.
  • Replace a conversion hose assembly when the hose, regulator, or fittings show damage, cracking, corrosion, or suspected leakage.
  • Select the orifice size that matches the grill's required BTU output. Incorrect orifice selection can affect burner performance.

Installation Tips

  • Confirm the grill model, fuel type, connection size, thread type, and BTU requirement before beginning work.
  • Use the included wrench and gas-rated PTFE tape where appropriate for the threaded connections. Do not use tape on flare-sealing surfaces.
  • Install the correct LP orifices for the grill's BTU output and connect the QCC1/Type 1 fitting to the propane tank.
  • Keep the hose routed without sharp bends or contact with hot surfaces. The 90-degree regulator design helps position the tank connection.
  • After installation, apply soapy water to the connections and check for bubbles. Do not operate the grill if a leak is present.
  • Follow the included instruction manuals and applicable gas-safety requirements during installation.

FAQs

This kit converts a compatible Weber Genesis grill from natural gas operation to propane operation. Confirm that your grill’s existing model and valve configuration match the conversion requirements before installation.
It is intended for compatible Weber Genesis grills. Weber Genesis models vary by generation, so verify the grill model and existing gas components before ordering; compatibility should not be assumed for every Genesis model.
The identified item model number is 698183. Use this number together with your grill’s full model information when confirming fitment.
Confirm that the grill is designed for conversion, that the propane cylinder and regulator connections match, and that all burners, valves, hoses, and fittings are in sound condition. Shut off and disconnect the natural gas supply before beginning work.
Installation involves fuel-system components and requires careful leak testing after assembly. Use the proper tools and follow the grill’s service instructions; if you are not experienced with gas appliances, have the conversion completed and tested by a qualified gas technician.
With the propane supply connected but the burners off, apply an approved leak-detection solution to every connection and slowly open the cylinder valve. Bubbles indicate a leak that must be corrected before the grill is operated. Never use an open flame for leak testing.
