WD12X10304 / WD12X344 Upper Rack Slide Rail End Cap
Key Features
- High-Impact Structural Polymer: Manufactured from a specialized, reinforced plastic designed to withstand the intense thermal stress of "Sani-Rinse" and "Heated Dry" cycles without warping or becoming brittle over time.
- Precision Friction-Fit Interface: Features a standardized "press-on" mounting system that slides securely onto the end of the metal rack slide rail, providing a physical barrier that prevents the upper rack from rolling off its tracks.
- Enhanced Safety Stop: Specifically engineered to absorb the impact of the upper rack being pulled forward or pushed back, ensuring the rack remains safely captive within the cabinet even when fully loaded with heavy glassware.
- Detergent-Resistant Construction: 100% rust-proof and resistant to the caustic enzymes, surfactants, and high-pH chemicals found in modern dishwasher detergent pods and rinse aids.
- Essential 2-Piece Maintenance Set: This pack provides a replacement set for one side or selective replacement for both the left and right slide rails, restoring the safety and smooth operation of your dishwasher's upper rack system.

Compatibility & Fitment
This rail end cap is the standard safety stop for the upper rack tracks of most GE-manufactured plastic and stainless steel tub dishwashers. Key compatible brands include:
- GE (General Electric): Fits hundreds of GSD, GHD, GDW, GDF, and GDT series models (e.g., GSD2100V35WW, GDT695SSJ2SS).
- Hotpoint: Compatible with various HDA, HDB, and HLD series budget-friendly dishwashers.
- Kenmore (363 Series): Fits many 363-prefix models produced by GE for Sears (e.g., 363.14352101).
- Note: These caps are located at the ends of the metal slide rails (the tracks attached to the cabinet walls). They are not the wheels that attach to the rack itself.
When to Replace
- Upper Rack Rolling Out: The rack pulls completely out of the dishwasher and falls into your hands because the end cap has snapped or fallen off.
- Visible Heat Damage: The white plastic looks "yellowed" or has visible stress fractures from long-term exposure to the dishwasher's heating element.
- Missing Clips: A cap has popped off during a cycle and was lost or melted against the dishwasher's heating element at the bottom of the tub.
- Rack "Jumping" the Track: The rack feels unstable when pulled forward, suggesting the cap is loose and no longer providing a solid vertical stop.
- Brittle Material: The plastic feels "stony" and snaps easily when touched, a common result of years of exposure to high-heat drying cycles.
Installation Tips
- No Specialized Tools Required: This is a simple "press-fit" repair. Open the dishwasher and pull the upper rack forward slightly to expose the ends of the metal rails.
- Removing the Old Cap: Most caps slide off with firm finger pressure. If it is stuck, use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry the locking tab away from the metal rail.
- Clean the Rail End: Before installing the new WD12X10304 cap, wipe away any old food particles or mineral scale from the tip of the metal rail to ensure a secure, permanent lock.
- Orientation: Ensure the "stop" portion of the cap is facing outward (away from the rail). Slide the cap onto the rail until it is fully seated.
- The "Tug" Test: Gently pull the rack forward against the new clips to ensure they are locked securely. While this is a 2-pack, it is often recommended to inspect all four caps (front and back of both rails) during the repair.
