When to Replace
- Replace the engine air filter when it is visibly dirty, airflow is restricted, or engine performance and fuel economy are affected by a clogged filter.
- Replace the cabin air filter when HVAC airflow decreases, interior air becomes dusty or odorous, or the filter reaches its scheduled service interval.
- A general replacement interval is every 12 months or 12,000–15,000 miles, with more frequent service in dusty or polluted driving conditions.
Installation Tips
- Confirm both original filter part numbers and compare the old filters with the replacement filters before installation.
- Turn off the vehicle and follow the vehicle service procedure for accessing the engine air box and cabin filter housing.
- Remove loose dirt from each housing before fitting the new filter, and install the filter in the same airflow direction as the original.
- Ensure the air box and cabin filter cover are fully seated after installation to prevent air bypass.
