18V Lithium Battery Adapter Kit (Compatible with Milwaukee M18)
Key Features
- Instant Power Upgrade: Easily convert your existing 18V lithium-ion power tool batteries into a high-performance power source for ride-on toys, robotics, or custom DIY 12V/18V electrical projects.
- Heavy-Duty 14-Gauge Wiring: Pre-wired with thick, pure copper 14 AWG silicone wire capable of safely handling the high-current draw of upgraded ride-on toy motors without overheating or melting.
- Integrated Safety Protection: Features a built-in, waterproof inline fuse holder and includes standard 30-Amp ATO/ATC blade fuses to immediately protect your battery and motors in the event of a short circuit or power surge.
- Secure Battery Lock: Engineered with a precise molded track and a metal spring-loaded release button that securely locks the battery in place, preventing it from rattling loose over rough terrain or grass.
- Easy Chassis Mounting: The adapter base features pre-drilled countersunk screw holes, allowing you to easily and permanently mount the dock to plastic toy chassis, workbenches, or custom enclosures.
Product Specifications
- Wire Gauge & Length: 14 AWG, Approx. 10 inches.
- Included Safety: Inline Fuse Holder with 30A Fuses.
- Output Voltage: 18 Volts DC (Direct pass-through from battery).
- Material: High-impact ABS plastic.
Compatibility & Applications
This power adapter dock is precision-molded to fit the M18 battery platform. Compatible uses include:
- Battery Fitment: Compatible with all standard and High Output Milwaukee M18 18V Lithium-Ion batteries (e.g., 48-11-1815, 48-11-1820, 48-11-1828, 48-11-1840, 48-11-1850, 48-11-1862).
- Ride-On Toys: Popularly used to upgrade 12V children's ride-on vehicles (like Power Wheels or Peg Perego) for faster speeds and massively reduced charging times.
- DIY Projects: Excellent for powering 18V LED work lights, portable soldering stations, camping gear, and custom robotics.
Why Upgrade to Lithium?
- Zero Downtime: Original lead-acid (SLA) toy batteries can take 10 to 14 hours to charge. With this adapter, simply swap in a fresh power tool battery and keep driving immediately.
- Massive Speed Boost: Upgrading a stock 12-volt toy to an 18-volt lithium power source will significantly increase the top speed and torque for climbing small hills.
- Lighter Weight: Lithium-ion batteries weigh a fraction of traditional block lead-acid batteries, improving the power-to-weight ratio of the toy or project.
Installation & Safety Tips
- Safety First (CRITICAL): This adapter is not a charger. Do not use this adapter to charge your battery. Always remove the battery to charge it on its original factory wall charger.
- Low Voltage Warning: Power tool batteries can be permanently damaged if drained completely dead. Because children's ride-on toys do not have low-voltage protection, you must teach the driver to stop and change the battery as soon as the vehicle starts to slow down.
- Motor Wear Disclaimer (PRO TIP): Supplying 18 volts to stock 12-volt toy motors will make them run much faster, but it will also increase heat and wear. Extended driving on thick grass at 18V may shorten the lifespan of stock 12V motors or plastic gearboxes.
- Secure the Wiring: Always use proper crimp connectors or solder and heat-shrink tubing when connecting the 14AWG leads to your project. Never leave twisted wires exposed.
