This gauge is designed for standard propane cylinders ranging from 5lb to 40lb. It features a QCC1/Type 1 connection, making it compatible with most modern RVs, campers, BBQ gas grills, portable heaters, and fire pits that utilize this standard fitting.
The gauge uses a pressure-sensitive dial to provide a visual reading. The green zone indicates a safe, full level; the yellow zone indicates that the propane level is low and you should prepare to refill; and the red zone indicates that the tank is nearly empty.
The gauge measures pressure, not liquid volume. Because propane remains at a constant pressure until the liquid is almost entirely depleted, the needle will stay in the green zone for most of the tank's life. It will move into the yellow and red zones only when the liquid propane is running low and the pressure begins to drop.
No tools are required. The gauge is designed for hand-tightening. Simply screw the gauge onto your propane tank's QCC1 valve by hand, then attach your appliance's regulator hose to the other end of the gauge. Ensure all connections are snug to prevent leaks.
