W70329 Finned Disc, W69698 Diaphragm & W70327 Foot Pad Kit
Key Features
- Complete Suction Overhaul: A comprehensive 3-part restoration kit designed to replace the most critical wear components, restoring original vacuum power and movement speed to your suction cleaner.
- High-Flex Finned Disc (W70329): Features a specialized 36-fin design that provides superior seal-to-floor contact while allowing the cleaner to "step" over main drains, light fixtures, and wall transitions without getting stuck.
- Long-Life Diaphragm (W69698): The "heart" of the cleaner, manufactured from a heavy-duty, chemical-resistant polymer that delivers silent, powerful suction pulses to move the cleaner efficiently across the pool.
- Durable Foot Pad (W70327): Provides the structural foundation for the vacuum seal; engineered with high-abrasion resistance to protect the cleaner body from constant contact with plaster, tile, and pebble surfaces.
- Chemical & UV Resistance: All components are treated to withstand the degrading effects of high chlorine, salt systems, and intense sunlight, preventing premature cracking or stiffening.
Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Finned Disc: W70329, W83277, W70328.
- Diaphragm: W69698, W69721, G3 Diaphragm.
- Foot Pad: W70327, W83275, W70326.
Compatibility & Fitment
This kit is a direct fit for the "G-Series" chassis and related suction cleaners. Key compatible models include:
- Zodiac Baracuda: G2, G3, G4.
- Zodiac Ranger: Compatible with all Ranger 1500 models.
- Contiki: Fits specific Zodiac Contiki suction cleaner models.
- Note: While designed for Zodiac models, this kit also fits many "knock-off" G3-style cleaners that utilize the standard Baracuda-pattern foot pad and disc mounting system.
When to Replace
- Cleaner Stops Moving: The most common sign of a torn diaphragm (W69698). Even a tiny pinhole will stop the cleaner's pulsing movement.
- Curled Disc Edges: If the finned disc (W70329) is permanently curled or warped, it can no longer maintain a vacuum seal, causing the cleaner to skip debris.
- Exposed Cleaner Body: If the foot pad (W70327) is worn thin, the bottom of your cleaner will begin to grind against the pool floor, leading to expensive structural damage.
- Loud Pumping Noise: A worn or improperly seated diaphragm often produces a loud "clunking" sound during the pump cycle.
Installation Tips
- The "Warm Water" Trick: PRO TIP: Soak the blue finned disc in warm water for 5–10 minutes before installation. This makes it pliable enough to snap onto the foot pad without risking a tear.
- Check the Retaining Ring: IMPORTANT: When installing the diaphragm, ensure the plastic retaining ring is snapped fully into place. If it's loose, the diaphragm will "flutter" and the cleaner will move erratically.
- Directional Check: Ensure the fins on the disc are facing the correct direction (usually curved slightly upward) to help the cleaner navigate over obstacles.
- Clear the Throat: While the foot pad is off, check the "throat" of the cleaner for any small pebbles or twigs that might be obstructing the diaphragm's movement.
