Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- This is a universal replacement for round dual run capacitors with matching specifications.
- Replaces any capacitor with a 45/7.5 MFD rating and a voltage of 370V or 440V.
- Can be used to replace a 370V rated capacitor, as 440V is a higher voltage rating. Do not use a 370V to replace a 440V capacitor.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for heavy-duty, continuous use in HVAC systems.
- Powers both a compressor motor (45 MFD) and a fan motor (7.5 MFD) simultaneously.
- Commonly used in residential and commercial air conditioner (AC) condensing units and heat pumps.
- Verify physical dimensions to ensure proper fit within the unit's mounting bracket and available space.
When to Replace
- Outdoor unit produces a humming sound, but the compressor or fan fails to start.
- Fan blades do not spin without a manual push-start.
- AC system blows warm air or fails to cool.
- Visible signs of failure on the existing capacitor, such as a swollen or bulging top, rust, or fluid leakage.
- Frequent tripping of the circuit breaker when the AC unit attempts to start.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the HVAC unit before servicing.
- Safely discharge the stored energy from the old capacitor by shorting the terminals with an insulated-handle tool.
- Note or photograph the wire connections to the C, F, and HERM terminals before removing the old part.
- Ensure the MFD and voltage ratings of the replacement part match the original specifications.
- Secure the new capacitor firmly in the mounting strap to prevent damage from vibration.
