Compatibility & Fitment

This reusable filter is designed for use in Keurig 2.0 and select Plus series brewers. Compatible models include:

  • K-Series 2.0: K200, K225, K250, K300, K325, K350, K360, K400, K425, K450, K460, K475, K500, K525, K550, K560, K575.
  • Plus Series: K-Select, K-Elite, K-Classic (with updated needle assemblies), K-Latte.
  • Note: On many 2.0 machines, you must remove the standard K-Cup holder (Part # 5000054082) from the brewer to insert this universal filter assembly.

When to Replace

  • Mesh Tearing: Visible holes or separation in the stainless steel mesh, which allows coffee grounds to enter your mug.
  • Seal Failure: The lid no longer snaps shut or the silicone gasket is missing, causing water to bypass the coffee.
  • Clogged Screen: Persistent slow brewing or "Short Cup" errors caused by fine oils and micro-sediment that cannot be removed by cleaning.
  • Cracked Housing: The plastic frame shows signs of heat stress or cracking, which can lead to structural failure under pressure.

Installation Tips

  • Grind Size: Use a medium-to-coarse grind; excessively fine "espresso" grinds can clog the mesh and cause the brewer to overflow.
  • Fill Level: Do not fill the filter past the "MAX" line. Overfilling prevents the lid from sealing and can lead to a messy cleanup.
  • Brewer Preparation: For Keurig 2.0 models, grasp the K-Cup pod holder and pull it toward you to remove it. Insert the reusable filter directly into the vacated slot.
  • Alignment: Ensure the arrow on the filter lid aligns with the center of the brewer’s puncture needle to avoid damage.
  • Cleaning: Rinse the filter immediately after use. It is top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand-washing extends the life of the mesh and seals.

FAQ

These reusable filters are designed specifically for Keurig 2.0 brewing systems. This includes the K200, K250, K300, K350, K360, K400, K450, K460, K500, K550, and K560 series.
You should consider a replacement if the fine mesh screen becomes clogged with coffee oils and sediment that regular rinsing cannot remove, or if the plastic lid hinge has become loose or cracked, preventing a proper seal during the brewing cycle.
For the best results, use a medium-coarse grind similar to what you would use for a standard drip coffee maker. Avoid using an extra-fine espresso grind, as it can clog the mesh screen and cause the water to overflow or bypass the filter.
Simply empty the used grounds into your compost or trash, then rinse the filter under warm running water. These filters are top-rack dishwasher safe, but regular hand rinsing is usually sufficient to keep the mesh clear.
No, these filters feature a built-in stainless steel micro-mesh screen designed to filter out grounds without the need for additional paper filters. However, if you prefer an exceptionally clean cup with zero sediment, you can use a small paper insert, though it is not required for operation.
