Compatibility & Fitment
This reusable filter is designed for use in Keurig 2.0 and select Plus series brewers. Compatible models include:
- K-Series 2.0: K200, K225, K250, K300, K325, K350, K360, K400, K425, K450, K460, K475, K500, K525, K550, K560, K575.
- Plus Series: K-Select, K-Elite, K-Classic (with updated needle assemblies), K-Latte.
- Note: On many 2.0 machines, you must remove the standard K-Cup holder (Part # 5000054082) from the brewer to insert this universal filter assembly.
When to Replace
- Mesh Tearing: Visible holes or separation in the stainless steel mesh, which allows coffee grounds to enter your mug.
- Seal Failure: The lid no longer snaps shut or the silicone gasket is missing, causing water to bypass the coffee.
- Clogged Screen: Persistent slow brewing or "Short Cup" errors caused by fine oils and micro-sediment that cannot be removed by cleaning.
- Cracked Housing: The plastic frame shows signs of heat stress or cracking, which can lead to structural failure under pressure.
Installation Tips
- Grind Size: Use a medium-to-coarse grind; excessively fine "espresso" grinds can clog the mesh and cause the brewer to overflow.
- Fill Level: Do not fill the filter past the "MAX" line. Overfilling prevents the lid from sealing and can lead to a messy cleanup.
- Brewer Preparation: For Keurig 2.0 models, grasp the K-Cup pod holder and pull it toward you to remove it. Insert the reusable filter directly into the vacated slot.
- Alignment: Ensure the arrow on the filter lid aligns with the center of the brewer’s puncture needle to avoid damage.
- Cleaning: Rinse the filter immediately after use. It is top-rack dishwasher safe, but hand-washing extends the life of the mesh and seals.
