This pulley replaces OEM part numbers GY22172 and GY20067. It is also a suitable replacement for GY20996, GY20050, GX20305, and 280-085.
This flat idler pulley has an outer diameter of 3-5/8 inches, an inner diameter of 11/16 inches, and a height of 1-3/16 inches.
You should inspect your pulleys if you notice excessive vibration while the mower deck is engaged, a high-pitched squealing or grinding noise coming from the deck, or if the mower belt frequently slips or jumps off the pulleys. If you feel any roughness or resistance when spinning the pulley by hand with the belt removed, the internal bearings are likely failing.
Whenever you replace an idler pulley, it is highly recommended to inspect the mower deck belt for signs of cracking, fraying, or glazing. If the belt is worn, replacing it at the same time prevents future downtime. Additionally, ensure the mounting bolt and hardware are free of debris and properly tightened to prevent premature wear on the new pulley.
