14-Gauge Marine-Grade Inline Fuse Holder Kit with 15A Fuses
Key Features
- Marine-Grade Tinned Copper: Constructed with high-quality 14 AWG tinned copper wire, offering superior conductivity while effectively resisting oxidation and corrosion in harsh marine or automotive environments.
- Weatherproof & Dustproof: Features a tight-fitting, flexible silicone rubber cap that securely seals the fuse housing, protecting the electrical connection from water splashes, dirt, dust, and salt spray.
- Universal Blade Fuse Fitment: Designed to securely hold standard ATO/ATC blade fuses. The snug internal brass contacts prevent the fuse from vibrating loose during rough off-road or marine travel.
- Customizable Pigtail Loop: Arrives as a continuous 12-inch wire loop that can be cut at any point to create the exact lead lengths needed for your specific custom wiring project.
Product Specifications
- Wire Gauge: 14 AWG (American Wire Gauge).
- Wire Material: Tinned Copper (Marine/Automotive spec).
- Fuse Type: Standard size ATO / ATC blade fuses.
- Included Fuses: Four (4) 15-Amp fuses.
- Maximum Voltage: 32V DC.
Compatibility & Applications
This universal inline fuse holder is essential for safely adding aftermarket 12V electrical accessories. Common applications include:
- Marine & Boating: Bilge pumps, marine radios, navigation lights, and fish finders.
- Automotive & Off-Road: LED light bars, fog lights, auxiliary horns, and aftermarket stereos.
- Powersports: Motorcycles, ATVs, UTVs, and snowmobiles.
- Recreational Vehicles: RV 12V lighting, solar panel feeds, and power inverters.
When to Use or Upgrade
- Adding New Accessories: Never wire an aftermarket electrical device directly to a battery without an inline fuse. This holder protects your vehicle from catastrophic electrical fires if the new accessory shorts out.
- Corroded Fuse Blocks: If an original factory fuse block slot has melted or severely corroded, an inline fuse holder can be spliced in to bypass the damaged section safely.
- Upgrading to Marine Spec: If you are using standard bare-copper wiring on a boat, upgrading to tinned copper prevents the wire from turning green and brittle from salt air exposure.
Installation & Wiring Tips
- Safety First (CRITICAL): Always disconnect the negative terminal of your battery before performing any electrical wiring to prevent accidental shorts and sparks.
- Cutting the Loop (PRO TIP): You do not have to cut the wire exactly in the middle. If your installation requires a longer wire on the battery side and a shorter wire on the accessory side, cut the loop off-center to fit your needs.
- Secure the Splice: Because this is designed for wet or harsh environments, do not use basic electrical tape. Use waterproof, adhesive-lined heat shrink butt connectors to splice the 14-gauge wire into your circuit.
- Seal the Cap: After inserting the 15A fuse, press the rubber cap down firmly until you feel it seat fully over the lip of the housing to guarantee a watertight seal.
