They are compatible with a wide range of cruisers, bobbers, and choppers, including Harley-Davidson Sportster 883 and 1200 models, as well as metric cruisers from Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki that utilize a 1-inch bar diameter.
No, these grips will not fit 7/8-inch handlebars. They are specifically sized for 1-inch handlebars. Attempting to install them on smaller bars will result in a loose, unsafe fit.
These grips are designed for standard cable-actuated throttle systems. If your motorcycle uses a dual-cable setup, ensure your throttle housing has the necessary clearance to accommodate the grip's inner sleeve.
Installation typically requires a screwdriver or hex key set to remove your existing bar-end weights and throttle housing. You may also need a mild adhesive or grip glue, and a utility knife to remove your old grips if they are bonded to the bars.
If your current grips are glued, you can often loosen them by carefully sliding a thin screwdriver under the rubber and spraying a small amount of compressed air or soapy water to break the seal. If they are worn out, cutting them off with a utility knife is the most efficient method, taking care not to scratch the handlebar finish.
While replacing your grips, it is a good time to inspect your throttle cables for fraying or binding and to ensure your handlebar ends are free of rust or debris. If you are using a throttle sleeve, verify that the teeth are not stripped and that it rotates smoothly on the handlebar.
