12" (30.5cm) Microwave Glass Turntable Plate - Y-Type Center
Key Features
- Reinforced Tempered Glass: Manufactured from high-density, heat-resistant glass designed to withstand the rapid temperature fluctuations inside a microwave without cracking or shattering.
- Y-Type Cloverleaf Center: Features the standard 3-notch "Y" design in the center of the plate, ensuring a locked and stable connection to the turntable coupler for smooth, consistent rotation.
- Dishwasher Safe: The non-porous surface is easy to clean and fully dishwasher safe, making it simple to remove food splatters, grease, and dried-on spills.
- Textured Base: The underside of the plate is engineered with a textured rim to provide maximum traction for the turntable support rollers, preventing slipping or uneven cooking.
- Safety-Finished Edges: The outer rim is precision-ground and polished to ensure there are no sharp edges, providing safe handling during installation and cleaning.
Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Primary Part Number: W10337247.
- Cross-References: W11367904, W11335034, W11443145, W11291538.
- Manufacturer Equivalents: AP6889248, PS12724492, EAP12724492.
- General Specification: 12-inch (approximately 305mm) diameter glass tray with a 3-part cloverleaf center drive.
Compatibility & Fitment
This glass plate is a standard size for many mid-sized over-the-range (OTR) and countertop microwaves. Key compatible brands include:
- Whirlpool: Fits a vast range of WMH series models (e.g., WMH31017, WMH32519).
- KitchenAid: Compatible with KMH and KHMS series over-the-range microwaves.
- Maytag: Fits various MMV series models (e.g., MMV1174, MMV4205).
- Amana: Direct fit for many AMV series units.
- Note: CRITICAL: There are two common 12-inch plates. This one has a 3-notch (cloverleaf) center. If your microwave uses a flat center or a different notch style, this plate will not rotate. Please check your original plate or the turntable coupler before ordering.
When to Replace
- Cracked or Chipped Glass: Even small chips on the edge can harbor bacteria or expand into a full crack under high heat, leading to a safety hazard.
- Worn Center Notches: If the "Y" grooves in the center have worn down, the plate may slip or fail to rotate, resulting in "cold spots" in your food.
- Unbalanced Rotation: If the plate wobbles or vibrates loudly while turning, it may have warped slightly or sustained damage to the base.
- Pitting or Permanent Stains: If the glass surface has become pitted or has burnt-on stains that no longer wash off, it can affect the cleanliness and efficiency of the cooking process.
Installation Tips
- Measure Carefully: PRO TIP: Before ordering, measure your old plate or the microwave floor. This plate is exactly 12 inches (30.5cm).
- Check the Coupler: Ensure the plastic "cloverleaf" part in the center of the microwave floor is clean and not broken. If the coupler is melted, the new glass plate still won't turn.
- Cleaning the Rollers: While the plate is out, wipe down the ring of rollers that the plate sits on. Grease buildup on these wheels is the #1 cause of "jerky" plate movement.
- Proper Seating: When placing the plate back in, rotate it by hand until you feel the notches "drop" onto the coupler. If it sits too high, it is not engaged and may break the motor or the plate.
