Compatibility & Fitment
- Compatible with Whirlpool, Kenmore, Maytag, KitchenAid, Roper, and Estate gas ranges.
- Fits various freestanding gas ranges, built-in wall ovens, and slide-in units.
- Specifically designed for the lower bake burner ignition system.
When to Replace
- The oven fails to ignite although gas is present and flowing.
- No audible clicking sound is heard when the oven control is set to a bake cycle.
- The ceramic insulator is cracked, charred, or broken, causing the spark to arc prematurely.
- The electrode tip is heavily corroded, bent, or covered in carbon buildup.
- The igniter clicks continuously but fails to produce a spark at the burner port.
Installation Tips
- Ensure the appliance is disconnected from both the power source and the gas supply before beginning.
- Remove the oven racks and the bottom floor panel to access the bake burner assembly.
- Unscrew the mounting screw securing the igniter to the burner tube.
- Carefully pull the lead wire through the insulation or from the spark module and disconnect the spade terminal.
- Clean the burner port area near the electrode tip with a wire brush to ensure a clear path for the spark.
- Install the new igniter, ensuring the electrode tip is aligned correctly with the gas flow ports.
- Reconnect the wiring and verify that the lead is not in direct contact with sharp metal edges or high-heat zones.
