8539324 Dishwasher Upper Spray Arm Mount Replacement
Key Features
- Precision Spray Arm Pivot: Engineered with a low-friction center axle that allows the upper spray arm to rotate freely and maintain constant water pressure for a 360-degree cleaning radius.
- Reinforced Snap-Lock Interface: Features upgraded plastic locking tabs designed to snap securely onto the water supply tube, preventing the spray arm from falling off during high-pressure "Heavy Duty" cycles.
- High-Temperature Structural Polymer: Manufactured from a specialized heat-resistant plastic that withstands the intense thermal stress of "Sani-Rinse" and "Heated Dry" settings without warping or becoming brittle.
- Optimized Fluid Dynamics: The internal chamber is designed for maximum water throughput, ensuring that your upper rack glassware and silverware receive the full force of the wash water.

Compatibility & Fitment
This mounting bracket is the standard replacement for the middle/upper spray arm on hundreds of Whirlpool-manufactured tall-tub dishwashers. Key compatible brands include:
- Whirlpool: Fits many WDT, WDF, and GU series models (e.g., WDT720PADM, GU2400XTPB).
- Kenmore (665 Series): Compatible with dozens of 665-prefix dishwashers produced for Sears (e.g., 665.13263K311).
- KitchenAid: Fits various KDTM, KDTE, and KUDC series units (e.g., KUDC10FXSS).
- Maytag & Amana: Direct fit for MDB and ADB series models utilizing the 8539324 bracket style.
- Note: Specifically for the Middle Spray Arm located directly underneath the upper dish rack. It is not for the ceiling spray arm or the lower wash arm.
When to Replace
- Spray Arm Falling Off: The upper spray arm frequently drops into the lower rack or the bottom of the tub because the mounting clips have snapped or worn down.
- Arm Not Spinning: The bracket pivot is cracked or clogged with mineral scale, preventing the spray arm from rotating and leading to poorly cleaned dishes on the upper rack.
- Water Leaking at the Connection: Water is spraying out from the side of the mount rather than through the spray arm nozzles, significantly reducing wash pressure.
- Visible Heat Damage: The plastic bracket looks yellowed, charred, or deformed after years of exposure to the dishwasher's heating element.
- Striped or Broken Axle: The central post that holds the spray arm has snapped off or the threads have been stripped.
Installation Tips
- No Tools Required: This is a simple "snap-on" repair. Pull the upper dish rack out completely or remove it from the machine for easier access to the manifold.
- Removing the Old Bracket: Locate the two plastic tabs that lock the bracket to the water supply tube. Squeeze them firmly or use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry them away from the tube.
- Clean the Supply Tube: Before installing the new 8539324 mount, wipe the manifold opening clean of any old food particles or calcium buildup to ensure a watertight seal.
- The "Click" Test: Align the new bracket with the hole in the supply tube and press up firmly until you hear the tabs "click" into place. Tug it gently to ensure it won't fall off during a cycle.
- Check the Spray Arm: While you have the arm removed, check the Spray Nozzles for seeds or toothpicks. Use a toothpick to clear any debris that might be blocking the water flow.
