Compatibility & Fitment
- Compatible with Frigidaire, Kenmore, Electrolux, Crosley, Tappan, and White-Westinghouse ranges.
- Fits various freestanding gas ranges, slide-in models, and built-in gas ovens.
- Designed for use in both bake (lower) and broil (upper) burner configurations where specified.
When to Replace
- Oven fails to heat or takes an unusually long time to ignite the gas burner.
- Igniter glows orange but does not get hot enough to trigger the gas valve release.
- Visible cracks, breaks, or white chemical "burn" spots on the dark gray heating element.
- The element does not glow at all when the oven is set to a bake or broil cycle.
- Multimeter testing shows no continuity across the igniter terminals.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect the appliance from the power source and shut off the gas supply before beginning.
- Remove oven racks and the bottom floor panel to access the burner assembly.
- Handle the new igniter only by the ceramic base; do not touch the gray heating element, as skin oils can cause premature failure.
- Unplug the existing wiring harness and remove the mounting screws (typically 1/4 inch hex head).
- Secure the new igniter in the exact same orientation as the original to ensure proper flame travel.
- Reconnect the wiring harness and ensure no wires are touching the burner or metal shielding before reassembling.
