Please turn off appliance power & wear work gloves before repairing. You will need a putty knife and a Phillips screwdriver. 1. Use a putty knife to release the clips holding the top panel; 2. Remove screws & wires to detach the dryer front panel and rear access panel; 3. Pull back on the belt tensioner to remove the belt from the motor pulley; 4. Reinstall with our new part! Make sure the belt rib side faces towards the drum.

The most common symptom is the dryer motor running, but the drum failing to rotate. You may also hear a thumping or squealing noise during operation, or find that the dryer stops mid-cycle. If you open the dryer and find the belt is snapped, frayed, or has lost its tension, it must be replaced.
Replacing the belt generally requires removing the top and front panels of the dryer to access the drum. You will need to loop the new belt around the drum and thread it through the idler pulley system connected to the motor. Having a second person to help hold the drum in place while you tension the belt can make the process significantly easier. Expect the repair to take approximately 30 to 60 minutes.
Since you have already disassembled the unit, it is a good practice to inspect the idler pulley and the drum rollers for signs of wear or seizing. If the idler pulley does not spin freely, it can cause premature belt failure. Additionally, this is an ideal time to vacuum out any lint buildup from the interior cabinet and the blower housing to improve airflow and safety.
