When to Replace
- Power trim or tilt system operates intermittently or not at all
- An audible clicking sound is heard from the solenoid, but the motor does not engage
- Trim motor operates in only one direction (up or down)
- Engine fails to crank when the solenoid is used for the starter circuit
Installation Tips
- Disconnect the battery's negative terminal before starting work.
- Photograph or label the wire placement on the old solenoid before removal.
- Ensure all electrical connection points are clean and free of corrosion.
- Securely tighten all terminal nuts to prevent poor connections and electrical arcing.
