FAQ

This kit is compatible with the Roomba e, i, and j series, including models i1, i3, i4, i5, i6, i7, i8, j5, j6, j7, j8, j9, e5, e6, and e7. It is also compatible with Roomba Combo i5 and j5 series robots. Please note that this kit is not compatible with the Combo j7+ or Combo j9+ models.
For optimal cleaning performance, we recommend replacing the HEPA filters every 2 months, the side brushes every 3 to 6 months, and the multi-surface rubber brushes every 6 to 12 months, depending on your home's floor type and the presence of pets.
You should consider replacing these parts if you notice a decrease in suction power, increased noise levels during operation, or if the robot leaves debris behind. Visually inspect the rubber brushes for tears or worn treads, and check if the HEPA filter is clogged with dust that cannot be removed by tapping it out.
No special tools are required. The multi-surface rubber brushes snap into place, the HEPA filters slide into the dust bin, and the side brushes can be easily attached using a standard Phillips-head screwdriver to secure the single screw.
Over time, fine dust and allergens clog the filter media, which restricts airflow and forces the vacuum motor to work harder. Replacing the filter ensures your robot maintains maximum suction and continues to effectively trap dust and particles rather than recirculating them into your home's air.
