When to Replace
- Inaccurate Temperatures: Oven runs significantly hotter or cooler than the digital display indicates.
- Error Codes: Control panel displays "F3" or "F4" fault codes (common for sensor circuit issues).
- Uneven Cooking: Food is consistently undercooked or burnt despite following standard recipes.
- Sensor Failure: The probe shows "Open" or "Short" circuit results when tested with an ohmmeter.
- Physical Damage: The metal probe is bent, cracked, or showing signs of severe pitting.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect the appliance from the electrical power supply before attempting any service.
- Access the sensor from inside the oven cavity by removing the two mounting screws located at the rear of the oven wall.
- Gently pull the sensor forward until the wiring plastic disconnect is visible; take care not to let the wires slip back through the hole into the insulation.
- If the provided connector does not match, use the included ceramic wire nuts to splice the new sensor onto the existing oven wire harness.
- Ensure the probe does not touch the interior oven walls or the heating elements, as this will result in false temperature readings.
