Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers
- Direct replacement for any oval capacitor with matching 15 uF capacitance and 370V or 440V rating.
- Verify physical dimensions for proper fit in the mounting bracket.
Compatibility & Fitment
- Designed for single and three-phase AC motor applications.
- Commonly used in HVAC systems, including air conditioner condensers, heat pumps, compressors, and fan motors.
- Compatible with equipment requiring a 15 MFD run capacitor for either 370 Volt or 440 Volt systems.
When to Replace
- Motor hums but fails to start or struggles to start.
- Fan blades rotate slower than normal or require a manual push to start. *AC unit is running but not blowing cold air.
- Visible damage to the existing capacitor, such as swelling, bulging, or fluid leakage.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the equipment before beginning service.
- Safely discharge the existing capacitor by shorting the terminals with a resistor or an insulated screwdriver.
- Note the wire placement on the old capacitor terminals before disconnecting.
- Confirm the uF/MFD rating matches the original part exactly.
- The voltage rating of the replacement capacitor must be equal to or greater than the original (e.g., a 440V capacitor can replace a 370V, but not vice-versa).
- Secure the new capacitor in place and reconnect the wires to the correct terminals.
