Waterproof Twist Wire Connectors Outdoor Electrical Nuts Caps for Sprinkler Led Landscape Wet Location Installation Black - Pack of 50

Key Features

  • Package includes 50 waterproof wire connectors.
  • Pre-filled with a silicone sealant that surrounds splices for a moisture-resistant seal.
  • Rated for a maximum voltage of 600V.
  • Constructed from a high-impact, UV-resistant thermoplastic shell for durability in outdoor or direct burial applications.
  • Designed for use in wet locations, including irrigation systems and low-voltage landscape lighting.

Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • Serves as a universal alternative for standard twist-on wire nuts in applications requiring waterproof protection.
  • Suitable for use in place of similar specification connectors from brands such as 3M, Ideal, and King Innovation.

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Wire Range: Accommodates solid or stranded wire combinations from 22 AWG to 12 AWG.
  • Applications include:
    • Low-voltage landscape and security lighting
    • Irrigation control valves and sprinkler systems
    • Outdoor speaker and audio wiring
    • Marine and automotive electrical splices
    • Direct burial installations

When to Replace

  • Use for new installations requiring a durable, waterproof electrical connection.
  • Replace standard, non-waterproof connectors during maintenance or upgrades of outdoor systems.
  • Replace any existing connector showing signs of physical damage, corrosion, or water ingress.

Installation Tips

  • Ensure power is turned off before installation.
  • Strip wires approximately 1/2 to 5/8 inch. Do not pre-twist the conductors.
  • Align the stripped ends of the wires and insert them into the connector.
  • Push wires firmly to the bottom of the connector.
  • Twist the connector clockwise until hand-tight. A small amount of sealant should become visible at the base of the connector to confirm a waterproof seal.
  • Do not reuse connectors once removed.

FAQ

These twist-on connectors are commonly used to join low-voltage or branch-circuit wires in outdoor or damp-location applications such as sprinkler systems, landscape lighting, pathway lights, irrigation valve wiring, and similar electrical splices that need added moisture protection.
Yes. They are typically suited for outdoor splices found in sprinkler valve boxes, irrigation control wiring, LED landscape lighting, and other wet-location connections, as long as the wire type and circuit match the connector’s rated application. Always confirm the connector is appropriate for your wire count, wire size, and voltage before installation.
Turn off power first. Strip the wire ends to the required length, align the conductors evenly, and twist the connector on until the wires are secure and fully captured. For outdoor use, make sure the splice is clean, the insulation is not nicked, and the connector is tightened completely so moisture protection is not compromised. A basic wire stripper is usually the main tool needed.
A bad outdoor splice can cause intermittent sprinkler valve operation, landscape lights that flicker or stay off, voltage drop, nuisance controller faults, or corrosion at the connection point. In wet environments, failed connections are often caused by moisture intrusion, loose splices, damaged insulation, or corrosion from long-term exposure.
Inspect the wire for corrosion, broken strands, cracked insulation, and signs of water sitting inside the valve box or fixture area. If the copper is dark, brittle, or heavily corroded, cut back to clean wire before making the new connection. It is also a good idea to verify the circuit itself is working properly so the issue is not a failed solenoid, transformer, controller output, or light fixture.
