This set is designed for pools utilizing the Hayward-style SP1023 return fitting. It is compatible with above-ground and on-ground pool return setups that use a 1-1/2 inch FIP inlet return fitting. Please verify your existing return fitting style and part numbers prior to ordering, particularly if your pool wall fitting or eyeball assembly has been modified.
This set replaces OEM part numbers SP1023 and SP1419D. The SP1023 includes the 1-1/2 inch FIP inlet return fitting, locknut, and gasket, while the SP1419D is the directional flow eyeball jet.
Typical symptoms include water leaking at the pool wall around the return, cracked or brittle plastic, a stripped locknut or threads, a missing or flattened gasket, or poor directional control from a damaged eyeball jet. If the return stream will not hold its aim or the fitting seeps after tightening, the fitting body, gasket, or eyeball assembly may need replacement.
The SP1023 return fitting features 1-1/2 inch FIP internal threads. It is designed for use with return setups associated with 1-1/4 inch and 1-1/2 inch pool hose systems.
Installation is straightforward provided the old fitting is removed cleanly, typically taking 15 to 30 minutes per return fitting.
