FAQ

Part 91538 is designed for Weber Summit gas grills, specifically the Summit 400 and 600 series models produced in 2012 and later. Compatible models include the Summit E-470, E-670, S-460, S-470, S-660, and S-670. Since fitment can vary based on the specific production year, please verify your grill's model and serial number before ordering.
This assembly is identified by Weber part number 91538, which is the standard replacement number for this lighted control knob.
Typical symptoms include a cracked or loose knob, the knob slipping on the valve stem, difficulty turning the burner on or adjusting flame settings, or the lighted feature failing due to damage to the assembly. Cosmetic wear, fading, or broken grip notches are also common reasons for replacement.
Installation is straightforward. On compatible Summit grills, the old knob pulls straight off the valve stem and the new knob pushes into place. No special tools are required. Replacing the knobs typically takes 5 to 10 minutes. Ensure the grill is fully turned off and cool before beginning the installation.
Control knobs wear out due to repeated heat exposure, grease buildup, UV rays, and normal turning force. On lighted models, moisture and weather exposure can also lead to the deterioration of the illuminated components or the translucent body.
Before installing, inspect the valve stems for damage, remove any grease or debris from behind the knob area, and ensure the old knob was removed cleanly without leaving broken plastic behind. If the lighting feature does not function correctly after installation, check the grill’s related lighting components and connections on the control panel.
