Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • Interchangeable with generic 7x19 stainless steel aircraft-grade cable kits
  • Fits most standard boat lift, winch, and pulley replacement requirements

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Suitable for marine, industrial, and residential rigging
  • Compatible with standard 5/16" wire rope thimbles and U-bolt clamps
  • Intended for use with pulleys and sheaves designed for 5/16" cable diameter
  • Ideal for davit systems, sailboats, and general outdoor tensioning

When to Replace

  • Visible rust, oxidation, or surface corrosion
  • Broken or frayed individual strands (fishhooks)
  • Kinks, bird-caging, or permanent deformation of the cable shape
  • Significant diameter reduction (wear) at contact points with pulleys
  • Evidence of excessive stretching or structural fatigue

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the thimble is properly seated in the loop to prevent cable crushing
  • Install clips with the U-bolt section over the dead end (short end) of the rope and the saddle on the live end
  • Maintain correct spacing between clips, typically 6 to 8 times the rope diameter
  • Tighten clamps firmly, but avoid overtightening to prevent strand damage
  • Periodically check and retighten clamps after initial load-bearing use
