FAQ

This carburetor is designed for Honda GX160 and GX200 5.5HP/6.5HP OHV engines, as well as Predator 212cc engines, including model numbers 69730, 60363, and 69727. It is standard equipment for pressure washers, generators, mini bikes, go-karts, and other machinery utilizing these engine platforms. Please verify your original carburetor part number and linkage/choke layout before ordering.
This unit replaces OEM part numbers 16100-ZH8-W61, 16100-ZE1-814, and 16100-ZE1-825. It also serves as a direct replacement for 16100-Z0T-911 and 16100-ZL0-W51. To ensure a correct fit, compare your engine model and the specific part number stamped on your original carburetor or parts diagram.
Typical symptoms include hard starting, surging at idle, hunting under light load, fuel leaking from the bowl, black smoke from an over-rich mixture, poor throttle response, or an engine that only runs with the choke partially engaged. On GX160, GX200, and Predator 212-style engines, these issues are frequently caused by varnish buildup in the jets, a stuck float needle, or internal wear after periods of storage.
Installation is a straightforward repair that typically takes 20 to 45 minutes. You will need a socket set or nut driver, screwdrivers, needle-nose pliers, and a rag or container to catch residual fuel. The process involves removing the air filter housing, disconnecting the fuel line, and transferring the throttle/governor linkage and choke connection to the new unit. Taking a photo of the linkage before disassembly is recommended to assist with reassembly.
The primary cause is stale fuel, particularly fuel containing ethanol, which attracts moisture and leaves varnish deposits that clog the pilot and main jets. Other common causes include debris from deteriorated fuel lines, restricted fuel shutoffs, tank screen blockages, or cracked intake gaskets causing a lean condition. If the previous carburetor was heavily contaminated, we recommend inspecting the fuel tank, fuel line, and air filter before installing the replacement.
Before installation, drain any old fuel, inspect the fuel line for cracks, and ensure the fuel tank is free of rust or debris. Verify that the intake gaskets are in good condition and that the mounting studs are straight. Additionally, confirm that the governor/throttle linkage and choke lever move freely. If the engine previously required the choke to run, ensure the intake gasket and spacer are sealing properly, as an air leak can mimic carburetor failure.
