FAQ

This hose is designed to connect between propane accessories that use 1" x 20 throwaway-cylinder threads. It has a 1" x 20 male fitting on one end and a 1" x 20 female fitting on the other, making it suitable for use with propane tree distribution posts, T-connectors, Y-connectors, and compatible propane appliances that use the same thread type.
Check the inlet connection on your appliance or propane accessory. This hose is intended for equipment that uses 1" x 20 throwaway-cylinder-style threads. If your heater, torch, lantern, stove, or distribution tree uses a different fitting type, such as a larger tank connection or quick-connect fitting, this hose will not attach without the proper adapter.
Yes. This hose is specifically intended for setups using a propane tree distribution post as well as T and Y connectors, as long as the connected ports are 1" x 20 male/female throwaway-cylinder thread connections.
A propane hose is commonly replaced if it leaks, has cracked or dry-rotted outer material, shows kinks or flattening, has damaged threaded fittings, or no longer seals properly at the connection points. If you smell propane, hear hissing, or see bubbles during a leak test, stop using the hose and replace it.
After connecting the hose, open the propane supply slowly and apply a soap-and-water solution to each connection point. If bubbles form continuously, there is a leak. Tighten the fittings if appropriate and test again. Never check for leaks with a flame.
Installation is usually straightforward because the hose threads onto compatible 1" x 20 connections. In many cases it can be installed by hand, but always make sure the fittings are properly seated and not cross-threaded. Before installation, turn off the propane supply and disconnect all appliances from fuel.
Inspect the appliance inlet, distribution tree, or connector threads for dirt, damage, or worn sealing surfaces. Also check that the propane source, connectors, and appliance controls are in good condition. A new hose may not solve flow or leak problems if the mating fitting is bent, stripped, or contaminated.
CSA certification indicates the hose has been certified to applicable safety standards for its intended propane-use application. It is still important to use it only with compatible fittings, avoid over-tightening, keep it away from excessive heat or abrasion, and perform a leak test after installation.
