This 25-2 trimmer head replaces OEM part numbers 4002-710-2191, 4002-710-2108, 4002-710-2168, and 4002-713-9608.
This AutoCut 25-2 head is designed to accommodate .080", .095", and .105" diameter trimmer line.
You should consider replacing the head if you notice excessive vibration, difficulty with the bump-feed mechanism, or if the plastic housing has become worn, cracked, or damaged from contact with rocks and concrete. A damaged head can lead to uneven line feeding and increased strain on the trimmer's engine.
The head features a 10mm x 1 LHF (Left Hand Female) thread. To install, ensure the engine is off and the spark plug wire is disconnected. Use a locking pin or screwdriver to lock the trimmer gear head in place, then unscrew the old head by turning it clockwise (since it is a left-hand thread). Screw the new head on by turning it counter-clockwise until secure.
The most common cause is debris buildup inside the head or the line becoming tangled or welded together on the spool due to heat. Regularly clearing grass clippings from the head and ensuring the line is wound neatly without overlapping can prevent most feeding issues.
