A226000032 High-Capacity Air Filter for Echo Backpack Blowers - Pack of 10
Key Features
- Premium Pleated Paper Media: Engineered with a high-surface area pleated design to maximize dust-holding capacity while maintaining the high airflow required for 50cc to 80cc professional engines.
- Precision-Molded Rubber Gasket: Features a flexible, heavy-duty rubber seal that ensures a 100% airtight fit against the air box housing, preventing fine sawdust and debris from bypassing the filter.
- Multi-Layer Filtration: Designed to capture 99% of airborne particles, protecting internal cylinder walls and piston rings from premature wear and scoring.
- Chemical-Resistant Frame: The internal structural mesh and outer gasket are designed to resist degradation from fuel vapors, engine oils, and high-heat environments.

When to Replace
- Loss of Blowing Power: The engine sounds "muffled" and won't reach full RPM at wide-open throttle, indicating the paper media is restricted.
- Increased Fuel Consumption: A dirty filter creates a "rich" air-fuel mixture, causing the engine to burn excessive fuel and potentially foul the spark plug.
- Visible Discoloration: The bright white or yellow filter media has turned dark grey, black, or is visibly caked with dried mud and grass.
- Hard Starting: The engine is difficult to fire because it cannot draw enough clean air through the restricted filter.
- Oil Soaking: If the filter has become saturated with 2-cycle oil (often due to tipping the blower or a carburetor malfunction), it must be replaced immediately as it will no longer breathe.
Installation Tips
- Clean the Housing First: Before removing the old filter, use a damp cloth to wipe down the exterior of the air box. Once the filter is removed, carefully wipe the inside of the housing to prevent loose dirt from falling into the carburetor intake.
- Check the Seal: When placing the new A226000032 filter, ensure the rubber gasket is seated flat in the channel. If the gasket is pinched or folded, dirty air will enter the engine.
- Don't Use Compressed Air: Never try to "blow out" a pleated paper filter with high-pressure air. This creates microscopic tears in the paper that allow engine-killing dust to pass through.
- Inspect the Pre-Filter: If your model uses a foam pre-filter on top of the pleated filter, wash the foam in warm soapy water, dry it completely, and apply 2 drops of oil before reinstalling.
- Frequency: For commercial use, check the filter every 25 hours. In extremely dusty "leaf season" conditions, you may need to replace the filter every 50–100 hours of operation.
