Compatibility & Fitment
- HHT (Hearth & Home Technologies): Fits various gas fireplaces, stoves, and inserts.
- Majestic: Compatible with specific direct vent and B-vent gas fireplace models.
- Monessen: Fits multiple vent-free and vented gas log sets.
- Temco: Replacement for original equipment pilot assemblies in legacy models.
- Vermont Castings: Compatible with select gas stove and fireplace series.
- Designed for use with millivolt control valves (no external power required for the pilot circuit).
When to Replace
- Pilot flame will not stay lit after the control knob is released (thermocouple failure).
- Pilot flame is weak, yellow, or lifting off the burner, indicating a clogged or damaged orifice.
- Main burner fails to ignite even though the pilot is lit (thermopile signal is too low).
- Excessive soot or carbon buildup on the pilot hood that cannot be cleaned.
- Cracked or damaged ceramic insulators on the electrode or sensor leads.
Installation Tips
- Shut off the main gas supply and disconnect the power (if applicable) before servicing the unit.
- Use a backup wrench when loosening or tightening gas lines to prevent twisting the manifold.
- Ensure the thermocouple and thermopile leads are hand-tightened into the gas valve, then turned an additional 1/4 turn with a wrench.
- Verify that the pilot flame is engulfing the top 3/8 to 1/2 inch of the thermocouple and thermopile tips.
- Perform a gas leak test using a non-corrosive leak detection solution on all threaded connections after installation.
