Compatibility & Fitment

  • For use with residential and commercial swimming pools and spas.
  • Suitable for water sanitized with chlorine or bromine.
  • Not intended for use with biguanide sanitizers or pools with copper ionizers.

When to Replace

  • Replace testing solutions annually or by the expiration date printed on the bottles to ensure reading accuracy.
  • Replace the comparator block if it becomes stained, scratched, or faded, which can affect color matching.
  • Reagents can be damaged by extreme heat or cold; replace if they have been frozen or stored above 100°F (38°C).

Installation Tips

  • Rinse the test vials with pool or spa water before and after each use.
  • Collect the water sample from a depth of 12-18 inches (30-45 cm), away from jets or returns.
  • Hold dropper bottles vertically to ensure uniform drop size when adding reagents.
  • Cap the vials and invert several times to mix; do not shake vigorously.
  • Read test results immediately, as colors may change with time. View the comparator against a neutral white background for best results.

FAQ

This kit is intended to test three common water-balance readings: pH, chlorine, and bromine. That makes it useful for routine monitoring of both swimming pools and spas that use either chlorine- or bromine-based sanitizing systems.
Yes. A 3-way kit like this is commonly used for either chlorine-treated water or bromine-treated water, along with pH testing. It can be a practical choice if you maintain a swimming pool, hot tub, or spa and need to monitor sanitizer levels as part of regular water care.
For most setups, testing at least 2 to 3 times per week is a good starting point, and spas often benefit from even more frequent checks because their smaller water volume changes chemistry faster. You should also retest after heavy use, rainfall, adding chemicals, refilling water, or noticing cloudy water or irritation.
Common signs include cloudy water, strong chemical odor, eye or skin irritation, algae growth, staining, or water that looks dull instead of clear. These symptoms can point to sanitizer levels or pH being out of range, so testing is one of the first steps before adding more chemicals.
Take the sample from elbow depth if possible, away from return jets or skimmers, and follow the test instructions carefully for drop count, timing, and color comparison. Rinse the test cell before and after use, avoid touching the inside of the vials, and test the water soon after collecting the sample for more reliable readings.
Sanitizer and pH can shift بسبب sunlight, heat, bather load, rain, fresh fill water, and recently added chemicals. Spas are especially sensitive because warm water and small volume can cause chlorine or bromine demand to rise quickly. Frequent testing helps catch those changes before they lead to cloudy or uncomfortable water.
Test first, then make one adjustment at a time. Also check whether the filter is clean, circulation is adequate, and the water has had enough time to mix after prior chemical additions. If sanitizer seems hard to maintain, inspect for high bather load, excessive sun exposure, or filter and circulation issues rather than repeatedly overcorrecting with chemicals.
