Compatibility & Fitment
This bracket kit is a standard accessory for 24-inch built-in dishwashers manufactured by the Whirlpool Corporation. Key compatible brands include:
- KitchenAid: Fits many KDT, KDF, and KUDE series high-end models.
- Whirlpool: Compatible with various WDT, WDF, and GU series dishwashers.
- Kenmore / Sears: Fits 665 series models (e.g., 665.13202K, 665.13263K).
- Maytag: Compatible with many MDB, MDE, and Bravos series units.
- Amana & Jenn-Air: Fits select models utilizing the 8269145 part configuration.
When to Use This Kit
- Stone Countertops: Mandatory for kitchens with granite, quartz, or other stone surfaces where you cannot drill into the underside of the counter.
- Broken Brackets: The original top-mounting tabs have snapped off or become bent beyond repair.
- Machine Movement: The dishwasher "walks" or shifts during use, indicating the original mounting points have failed or are loose.
- Tipping Issues: The entire unit leans forward when the bottom rack is fully loaded and extended.
Installation Tips
- Safety First: Turn off the power at the circuit breaker and shut off the water supply before pulling the dishwasher out for installation.
- Bracket Placement: The brackets attach to the sides of the dishwasher frame. You may need to remove the plastic "plugs" or caps on the side of the dishwasher tub to access the mounting slots.
- Cabinet Attachment: Use the included screws to secure the brackets into the side of the wooden cabinetry. Do not over-tighten, as the dishwasher needs to remain level.
- Leveling: Ensure the dishwasher is perfectly level from front-to-back and side-to-side before securing the brackets to the cabinets.
- Trim Alignment: After securing the brackets, verify that the decorative trim pieces (if applicable) fit correctly around the brackets.
