Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • This is a universal adapter kit and does not replace a specific OEM part number. It is designed to create connections between standard low-pressure propane system fittings.

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Designed for use with low-pressure propane or natural gas systems commonly found on RVs, trailers, and motorhomes.
  • Connects portable appliances such as gas grills, heaters, fire pits, and camping stoves to an RV's onboard quick-connect propane port.
  • Adapts between 1/4" NPT, 3/8" Flare, and standard female/male quick-connect fittings.
  • Not for use in high-pressure applications before the regulator.

When to Replace

  • Install when adding a new appliance or adapting existing equipment to an RV's quick-connect system.
  • Replace existing fittings if they show signs of corrosion, cracking, or physical damage.
  • Replace if threads are stripped or damaged, preventing a secure connection.
  • Replace immediately if a gas leak is detected at the fitting connection.

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the main gas supply is shut off before beginning installation.
  • Apply the included thread seal tape to all male NPT (tapered) pipe threads to ensure a leak-free seal.
  • Do not use thread seal tape on flare fitting threads, as they create a seal through metal-to-metal contact.
  • Tighten all connections securely with appropriate wrenches, but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the brass fittings.
  • After installation is complete and before use, perform a leak test on all new connections using a soap and water solution.

WIDE APPLICATION

WIDE APPLICATION

Works with LOW-PRESSURE SYSTEMS ONLY! It is NOT intended to be connected directly to a high-pressure propane tank and will leak if you try to use it. You can use them separately or in combination for various applications. Make sure all valves are closed before turning on the propane supply.

FAQ

This kit is used to connect low-pressure propane appliances to an RV quick-connect gas system. Typical applications include RV-ready grills, propane heaters, and fire pits that are designed to run from a regulated low-pressure LP supply.
It works only if the appliance is intended for low-pressure propane and the inlet connection matches the fittings in the kit, including 1/4 in. male NPT and 3/8 in. male flare style connections. It is not for appliances that require high-pressure propane directly from a disposable bottle or from an unregulated tank connection unless the appliance has been properly converted for RV low-pressure use.
You may need this type of kit if your RV has an exterior propane quick-connect port and you want to run an outdoor appliance from the RV's propane system instead of a separate cylinder. It is commonly used when replacing bottle-fed connections on compatible low-pressure appliances or when adapting an appliance to a quick-connect setup.
Verify three things before installation: first, that your RV quick-connect port supplies regulated low-pressure propane; second, that your appliance is approved for low-pressure operation; and third, that the thread types match your appliance and hose ends. For NPT threaded joints, use a gas-rated thread sealant or yellow PTFE tape only where appropriate. Do not use thread sealant on flare fittings, since flare seats seal metal-to-metal.
The most common issues are mixing up NPT and flare threads, applying thread sealant to flare fittings, overtightening brass fittings, and trying to use a low-pressure RV connection with an appliance that still has its own high-pressure regulator in the wrong place. Another frequent problem is skipping a leak test after installation. Always test connections with a soap-and-water solution before use.
Signs of a problem include a propane smell, bubbles during a soap solution leak test, weak flame, burner shutdown, or an appliance that will not stay lit. Weak performance can also happen if the appliance is not designed for low-pressure propane, if a regulator is still installed where it should not be, or if the quick-connect fitting is not fully seated.
Installation is usually moderate difficulty if the fitting sizes and appliance type are already known. Typical tools include two appropriately sized wrenches so one side can be held while the other is tightened. A careful basic installation often takes about 15 to 30 minutes, plus time for leak testing. If you are uncertain about propane fittings or appliance pressure requirements, professional installation is the safer option.
