RV City Water Inlet - Brass with Black Flange and Check Valve
Key Features
- Inlet connection: 3/4" NH (GHT) female swivel, accepts any standard US garden hose without adapters
- Outlet connection: 1/2" NPT male thread, connects directly to standard RV fresh water plumbing fittings
- Integrated brass check valve prevents backflow from the RV's fresh water tank to the external hose connection; protects against contamination during disconnection
- Valve body constructed from lead-free brass; safe for potable/drinking water systems
- Black mounting flange constructed from durable UV-resistant plastic; approximately 3" diameter for standard surface-mount installation
- Easy-grip knob allows tool-free hose attachment and detachment
- Includes press-in rubber dust cap to seal the inlet port and exclude debris, road grit, and insects when not connected to a water source
Specifications
- Inlet thread: 3/4" NH (National Hose) / GHT female, swivel
- Outlet thread: 1/2" NPT male
- Flange diameter: approximately 3 inches
- Flange color: black
- Valve body material: lead-free brass
- Flange material: UV-resistant plastic
- Mounting: surface-mount, screw-flange style
Compatibility & Fitment
- Fits most Class A, Class B, and Class C motorhomes; fifth-wheel and bumper-pull travel trailers; toy haulers; and camper vans with a standard 3" round flange cutout
- Compatible with any RV or marine fresh water plumbing system using a 1/2" NPT female interior connection
- Accepts all standard US garden hoses with 3/4" GHT/NH male fittings, no adapter required
- Not compatible with metric-threaded hose fittings or systems requiring a 1/2" NPT female exterior connection
- Verify existing flange cutout diameter and interior plumbing thread size before ordering
When to Replace
- Water leaks from the flange face, hose connection point, or interior plumbing fitting under normal city water pressure
- Check valve no longer holds, water flows backward out of the inlet when the hose is disconnected
- Flange shows visible cracks, UV degradation, or brittleness that compromises the weather seal against the vehicle exterior
- Hose threads are stripped or cross-threaded, preventing a secure hose connection
- Dust cap is missing or no longer seals, allowing debris into the inlet port
- Corrosion or mineral buildup on the brass valve body restricts water flow
Installation Tips
- Shut off the city water supply and relieve any pressure in the RV's plumbing before removing the old inlet.
- Disconnect the interior 1/2" NPT plumbing line first, then unscrew or unclip the exterior flange from the vehicle sidewall.
- Remove all old sealant residue from the mounting surface before fitting the new flange, a clean surface is required for a watertight seal.
- Apply PTFE (Teflon) thread seal tape to the 1/2" NPT male outlet threads before threading into the interior plumbing fitting; 2–3 wraps in the direction of thread engagement is sufficient.
- Apply a continuous bead of non-leveling RV lap sealant or butyl tape around the back of the flange before pressing it against the vehicle wall; this creates the primary weather seal against moisture intrusion.
- Secure the flange with the provided screws, snug firmly but do not overtighten, as this can crack the flange or distort the sealant bead.
- Pressurize the system and inspect all connection points: interior NPT joint, flange perimeter, and hose swivel — for leaks before closing the access panel or compartment.
