Compatibility & Fitment

  • Designed to seal gaps from approximately 1/16 in to 1/8 in.
  • Applications: Interior and exterior door frames, window sashes, automotive doors and trunks, marine hatches, HVAC units, and electronic enclosures.

When to Replace

Installation Tips

  • Ensure the application surface is clean, dry, and free of oil, grease, and dust. Use an appropriate cleaning solvent for preparation.
  • Measure the required length and cut the tape with scissors or a utility knife.
  • Peel the protective liner from the adhesive side.
  • Apply the tape to the surface, pressing firmly and evenly to ensure full contact.
  • Avoid stretching the material during application as this can cause it to contract over time.

This tape adheres best to clean, dry, and smooth surfaces including wood, metal, glass, and vinyl. For optimal adhesion, ensure the surface is free of dust, grease, or old adhesive residue before application.
Clean the area thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol or a mild soap and water solution and allow it to dry completely. If you are replacing old weatherstripping, ensure all remnants of the previous tape are scraped away to provide a flat, even surface for the new adhesive.
While this foam tape provides an effective seal against drafts, moisture, and dust, it is primarily designed for interior use or protected exterior areas. Prolonged direct exposure to harsh UV rays and extreme weather cycles may reduce the lifespan of the adhesive backing.
Installation is straightforward and requires only a pair of sharp scissors or a utility knife to cut the tape to your desired length. No mechanical fasteners or specialized tools are required.
You likely need to replace your weatherstripping if you can feel a draft around the frame, hear excessive outside noise, or notice light leaking through the edges of a closed door or window. If the existing foam is compressed, cracked, or brittle, it is no longer providing an effective seal.
This foam tape is not designed to be painted. Painting the foam may cause the material to stiffen and lose its compression properties, which will compromise the seal.
