FAQ

This filter is widely used across various outdoor power equipment, including John Deere lawn tractors and Gators (such as the 6x4, HPX, and TH models), as well as equipment from Kohler, Gravely, Toro, Wheel Horse, Bobcat, Bunton, Jacobsen, and Lesco. It is designed to fit standard 1/4" and 5/16" fuel lines.
This filter replaces John Deere AM116304 and GY20709; Kohler 25-050-03-S, 25-050-08-S, and 25-050-22-S; Gravely 21541500 and 21410800; Toro/Wheel Horse 71-5960; Onan 149-2206-01; Bobcat 38666 and 38283; and Jacobsen 552265.
It is standard practice to replace your fuel filter at least once per season, or every 50 to 100 hours of operation. If you notice your engine struggling or if you use fuel containing ethanol, you may need to replace it more frequently to prevent sediment buildup and flow restriction.
Common signs include an engine that is hard to start, frequent stalling, loss of power under load, or an engine that surges while running. If the filter is restricted, the engine cannot receive the consistent fuel flow required for proper combustion.
When installing, ensure the arrow on the filter housing is pointing in the direction of the fuel flow—toward the engine/carburetor. Use pliers to slide the fuel line clamps back, remove the old filter, and quickly insert the new one to minimize fuel leakage. Always inspect your fuel lines for cracks or brittleness while you have them disconnected and replace them if necessary.
