When to Replace
- The existing knob is cracked, broken, or severely worn from ground contact.
- The line-feeding mechanism fails to activate when tapped.
- The knob no longer threads securely onto the spool.
Installation Tips
- Disconnect the spark plug before performing any maintenance.
- Unscrew the old knob from the trimmer head. Note that some models may have reverse threading.
- Remove the spring from the old knob and place it into the new one.
- Thread the new knob onto the spool assembly until it is hand-tight.
