When to Replace
- Scheduled Interval: Every 2 months of standard use to prevent bacterial growth and maintain filtration efficiency.
- Machine Alert: When the "Change Filter" light or message appears on the machine's digital display.
- Volume Milestone: After approximately 50 liters (13.2 gallons) of water has passed through the system.
- Flavor Changes: Noticeable decline in coffee quality or a chemical taste/odor in the water.
- Limescale Signs: Slower brewing times or steam wand sputtering, indicating that the filter is no longer softening the water effectively.
Installation Tips
- Initial Priming: Immerse the filter vertically in a bowl of clean water and squeeze the sides gently to release trapped air bubbles.
- Cold Water Rinse: Run tap water through the filter intake hole until water exits the outlet for at least 30 seconds.
- Date Setting: Rotate the top disk on the filter to align the current month with the replacement reminder.
- Secure Seating: Push the filter firmly into the tank housing and turn it slightly to lock it into the base.
- System Flush: After installation, run one "Hot Water" cycle (approx. 0.5 liters) through the machine's dispenser or steam wand to clear any loose carbon particles.
