FAQ

This chain is designed for 10-inch bars that require a 3/8-inch Low Profile (LP) pitch, a 0.050-inch gauge, and exactly 40 drive links. Before purchasing, verify these three specifications on your current chain or in your owner's manual, as bar length alone does not guarantee compatibility.
This chain is compatible with a wide range of 10-inch equipment, including models from Remington (such as the RM1035P), Worx (such as the WG309), Sun Joe (such as the SWJ803E), Craftsman (such as the S40), Echo, Greenworks, Poulan, Ryobi, Husqvarna, Makita, and Milwaukee. If your saw requires an S40 specification chain, this will fit.
You should replace your chain if you notice the saw pulling to one side while cutting, if the saw produces sawdust instead of wood chips, or if you find yourself having to apply excessive downward pressure to make a cut. Additionally, if the teeth are damaged, cracked, or have been filed down past the wear indicator marks, it is time for a replacement.
Replacing the chain typically takes 5 to 10 minutes. Most pole saws and small chainsaws require only a scrench (combination screwdriver and wrench) to loosen the side cover, adjust the tensioning screw, and remove the bar cover. No specialized mechanical tools are necessary.
To maximize the life of your chain, ensure your bar oil reservoir is filled before every use and check that the oiler is functioning correctly. Avoid letting the chain touch the ground, as dirt and grit will dull the cutters almost instantly. Regularly check your chain tension; a chain that is too loose can derail and damage the drive links, while one that is too tight will cause excessive heat and wear on the bar.
When installing, ensure the drive links (the teeth on the inside of the loop) are properly seated in the groove of the guide bar. After installing, tighten the chain until it is snug against the bottom of the bar, then pull it slightly away from the bar; it should snap back into place without sagging. Always run the saw at a low speed for a minute after installation to ensure proper lubrication and tensioning before beginning heavy work.
