4 SIMPLE STEPS

4 SIMPLE STEPS

1. Access to your resistor (usually behind/ under the glove box); 2. Release the 2 screws that secure the resistor to the housing; 3. Unplug the wire harness from the resistor connector by carefully releasing its tab with a flat-head screwdriver; 4. Reinstall with the new resistor. You can put some dielectric grease on in the resistor connector housing to avoid water intrusion.

FAQ

This part is designed for Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles equipped with Dual Zone Automatic Temperature Control. It is compatible with the 2010–2012 Ford Fusion, 2010–2012 Lincoln MKZ, and 2006, 2010, and 2011 Mercury Milan. Please note that it does not fit versions of the 2010–2012 models that utilize the 8E5H-19E624-A part number.
This unit replaces OEM part numbers 8E5Z19E624A and 6E5Z19E624AA. It also cross-references with several industry standard numbers, including JA1712, YH-1825, YH1825, 4P1589, RU797, 973-057, and CU2Z14S411AMA.
The most common sign is that the HVAC fan only operates on the highest speed setting, while the lower speeds do not work at all. Alternatively, the fan may stop working entirely, or you may notice the fan speed fluctuating inconsistently. If you experience these issues, the resistor is often the culprit.
Installation is generally straightforward and can typically be completed in 30 to 60 minutes. You will primarily need a socket set or a screwdriver to access the passenger side footwell area where the resistor is located. Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off before beginning the replacement.
Yes. Before installing the new resistor, inspect the electrical connector for signs of melting, corrosion, or heat damage. If the connector pins are burnt or melted, simply replacing the resistor may not resolve the issue, as a poor connection will cause the new part to fail prematurely. In such cases, the wiring harness connector should be replaced as well.
