You likely need a new belt if you notice a significant loss of top speed, the engine revs high without a corresponding increase in acceleration, or you experience 'slipping' when climbing hills. If you remove your CVT cover and see fraying, cracks, or rubber dust accumulation, the belt should be replaced immediately to prevent a mid-ride failure.
