Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • Replaces any round 35/10 MFD dual run capacitor with a 370V or 440V rating.
  • Common part numbers include: P291-3514R, CBB65, C33510R, PRC3510, 97F9836, TRCD3510, CPT00666.

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Designed for HVAC applications including air conditioners, heat pumps, and condenser units.
  • Simultaneously provides starting and running power to a compressor motor (35 MFD) and a fan motor (10 MFD).
  • Fits units from major brands including Carrier, Goodman, Trane, Lennox, Rheem, and Ruud when specifications match the original component.

When to Replace

  • The capacitor case is physically swollen, bulging, or leaking oily fluid.
  • The compressor or fan motor hums but will not start.
  • The fan blades turn slowly or must be started by hand.
  • A multimeter test shows capacitance values outside the ±5% tolerance range.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before beginning work.
  • Safely discharge the old capacitor by shorting across the terminals with an insulated tool.
  • Confirm the MFD ratings match the original capacitor exactly. The voltage rating of the new capacitor must be equal to or higher than the original.
  • Note the wire placement on the C (Common), FAN, and HERM (Hermetic/Compressor) terminals before removal.
  • Secure the new capacitor with the original mounting bracket to prevent vibration.
  • Step 1

    Step 1

Turn off the power and locate the capacitor
  • Step 2

    Step 2

Discharge any stored electricity by shorting the terminals
  • Step 3

    Step 3

Take a photo or note how the wires connect. Disconnect wires & install the new capacitor.
  • Step 4

    Step 4

    Reassemble and test
