Replaces / Cross-Reference Part Numbers

  • Replaces any brand of oval-shaped run capacitor with matching 10 µF/MFD capacitance and 370V or 440V AC voltage ratings.
  • Ensure physical dimensions (height and width) are compatible with your equipment's mounting bracket.

Compatibility & Fitment

  • Designed for continuous duty in single-phase motor run applications.
  • Commonly used for compressor and fan motors in air conditioners, heat pumps, refrigerators, and other HVAC systems.
  • The dual 370/440V rating allows for use in both 370V and 440V applications.

When to Replace

  • Motor struggles to start, makes a humming noise, or will not start.
  • Fan motor requires a manual push to start spinning.
  • The capacitor housing is visibly swollen, cracked, or leaking fluid.
  • Measured capacitance is outside the specified ±5% tolerance range.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect all electrical power to the equipment before beginning work.
  • Safely discharge the existing capacitor by shorting across the terminals with an insulated-handle tool.
  • Verify the µF (MFD) rating matches the original capacitor. The voltage rating of the replacement can be equal to or higher than the original, but not lower.
  • Note the wire placement on the old capacitor terminals before disconnecting. Replicate the connections on the new capacitor. AC capacitors are not polarized.
  • Secure the new capacitor with the original mounting hardware.
  • Step 1

    Step 1

Turn off the power and locate the capacitor
  • Step 2

    Step 2

Discharge any stored electricity by shorting the terminals
  • Step 3

    Step 3

Take a photo or note how the wires connect. Disconnect wires & install the new capacitor.
  • Step 4

    Step 4

    Reassemble and test
