Installation Tips
- Disconnect all electrical power to the water heater at the circuit breaker panel before servicing.
- Shut off the cold water supply and drain the tank completely or to a level below the element being replaced.
- Use an element wrench (1-1/2 inch socket) for removal and installation to avoid damaging the tank.
- Ensure the new gasket is properly seated on the element before installation to form a watertight seal.
- Refill the tank completely with water before restoring electrical power to prevent the element from dry-firing and failing.
