Compatibility & Fitment

  • For use in starting and running single-phase AC motors.
  • Commonly used in HVAC systems, including central air conditioners and heat pumps.
  • Fits applications for condenser fan motors, compressor motors, and blowers.
  • Dual voltage rating allows replacement of both 370 VAC and 440 VAC capacitors.

When to Replace

  • Motor hums but does not start or has difficulty starting.
  • Fan blades turn slowly or require a manual push to begin rotating.
  • AC unit is running but not cooling effectively.
  • Visible signs of damage such as swelling, bulging, or fluid leakage from the capacitor case.
  • Capacitance measures outside the ± 5% tolerance range when tested with a multimeter.

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect all electrical power to the equipment before beginning work.
  • Safely discharge the existing capacitor by shorting the terminals with an insulated tool.
  • The microfarad (µF/MFD) rating must match the original capacitor.
  • The voltage rating of this capacitor must be equal to or greater than the one being replaced. A 440V capacitor can safely replace a 370V capacitor.
  • Note the wiring configuration before disconnecting the old part.
  • Step 1

    Step 1

Turn off the power and locate the capacitor
  • Step 2

    Step 2

Discharge any stored electricity by shorting the terminals
  • Step 3

    Step 3

Take a photo or note how the wires connect. Disconnect wires & install the new capacitor.
  • Step 4

    Step 4

    Reassemble and test
