When to Replace

Installation Tips

  • Disconnect all electrical power to the unit before beginning work.
  • Safely discharge the old capacitor by shorting the terminals with an insulated tool.
  • Note the wire placement on the old capacitor's terminals (C, FAN, HERM) before disconnecting.
  • The new capacitor's MFD rating must match the original.
  • The new capacitor's voltage rating must be equal to or greater than the original.
